Sterling Elementary PTA Standing Rules

Sterling Elementary PTA exists to support learning at our school and to provide
opportunities for students that are above and beyond the basic classroom
experience. We fund-raise and work to:
1) Provide refreshment and PTA information for Back to School Night.
2) Provide refreshments for and assists with Kindergarten Tea.
3) Organize a Walk to School Day and provide refreshments for those that
participate.
4) Hold three major fund-raisers to pay for events and activities provided by the
PTA:
a. Fall: Walk-a-thon
b. Winter: Valentine Grams
c. Spring: Little Caesars cards
5) Promote and assist with the Reflections contest and support Art teachers
through PTA grants for art supplies.
6) Provide bussing for 1 fieldtrip/class/year.
7) Assist with Title 1 events.
8) Assist with the Book Fair.
9) Organize and present a Talent Show.
10) Provide a meal for staff during each Parent Teacher Conference block.
11) Provide hygiene products for Maturation Classes (5th and 6th grade).
12) Provide snacks for students for SAGE testing.
13) Hold a Parent Picnic in the spring.
14) Honors teachers and staff during teacher appreciation days and weeks by
providing supplies, gifts, meals, snacks, etc.
15) Organize and run a Field Day in May.
16) Provide two $50 scholarships to 2 students in each 6th grade class to go toward
Junior High student fees.
17) Assist with other activities as requested by the school (e.g. Eagle Hour Club
Day).
