Leadership Matters- The Importance of Reading

On March 2nd, school-aged children across the nation kicked-off National Reading Month by celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Although the children’s author wrote more than 60 books using the pen name, Dr. Seuss, his real name was Theodore Seuss Geisel. His books have proved invaluable to early readers by teaching rhyming, sight words, and nonsense words.

District Science and Engineering Fair Winners

Congratulations to our 2019 Science and Engineering Fair winners!
Around 140 projects from Tooele County schools made it to the district competition and about 50 will be moving on to the state-level.
Each project had to be reviewed by three separate judges. Thanks to the volunteers who helped judge and calculate results.

Notice of Public Hearing - February 12th at 6 p.m.

Consideration for making West Elementary School a magnet school for the German Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program, where all students enrolled in West Elementary would participate in the DLI program. Students in non-DLI classes would have a boundary change to one of the following schools: Northlake Elementary, Settlement Canyon Elementary or Sterling Elementary. The Board of Education will hear comments from the public. Each patron will be limited to three minutes to present their remarks.
