The Move to Sterling on 7th

Attached are all kinds of files on procedures and maps for the new school. Remember we do have school for students on January 2 from 9-3:30 and the open house is scheduled for that night when you are welcome to come walk through and see the new building. Due to time constraints and the Holidays there will not be an openhouse prior to that night.

Safe drinking water in Tooele County Schools

Children spend a significant part of their day at school. Because of this, the faucets that provide water used for consumption, including drinking fountains, and sinks used for cooking breakfast and lunch have been tested for lead in all the schools within Tooele County School District.

Last week, the test results came back with a clean bill of health. All the schools have safe drinking water according to the guidelines established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The Choking Game

The school district received a tip that students are playing the “choking game." We are very concerned about this activity and ask that parents talk with their children about the hazards of participating in this type of "game." We want to keep all our students safe from harm and this game poses a risk to their well being. Parents as Partners: Resilience- The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope

Resilience is a powerful documentary by James Redford and Karen Pritzker, illustrating the impacts of chronic stress on children’s brains. This one-hour movie chronicles the promising beginnings of a national movement to prevent childhood trauma, treat toxic stress, and greatly improve the health of future generations. Following the movie, there will be a discussion of the work being done in our schools and community to build resilience and counteract the impact of stress.
